2010 RMS-AAPG Meeting

Call For Papers

Deadline: CLOSED ON FEBRUARY 16TH

You are invited to submit an abstract for oral or poster presentation to the AAPG 2010 Rocky Mountain Section Meeting. All papers related to the geology of the Rocky Mountain region, especially those appropriate for the technical sessions listed below, will be considered. The technical program will be held on the Fort Lewis College campus in Durango, CO and is expected to comprise two to three concurrent oral sessions and one or two poster sessions each day.

Information for Presenters

Abstracts are due February 1, 2010. The length of the title and abstract, including spaces, cannot be more than 3000 characters total. Authors will be notified of acceptance by March 1, 2010. Authors of accepted papers will be contacted later concerning the specific time and location of their presentations. The only mode of oral presentation will be PowerPointtm. Information on how and when to download PowerPointtm files will be provided to oral presenters. Poster authors are expected to be in their booths a minimum of two hours. Details on the dimensions of poster space will be posted later, and sent by email to listed poster presenters.

Abstracts should be submitted electronically via the URL link below. Instructions on how to format and submit an abstract are provided after clicking on the Submit Abstract link. Please indicate if you prefer an oral or poster session or whether either is acceptable. Over-subscription may mean that some papers will be moved from poster to oral or vice versa, but only with the author(s) approval. Please do not submit an abstract unless at least one author can attend the meeting. All speakers are required to register for the meeting.

Presenters at the Durango meeting are encouraged to submit their research for possible publication in the New Mexico Geological Society’s 2010 Fall Field Conference Guidebook which will focus on the geology of the Four Corners area. The deadline for manuscript submittal is March 1, 2010. Contact the co-chairs for this meeting - Jim Fassett and Kate Zeigler, for more information.
